Meta, formerly known as Facebook has partnered with  Nigerian creators to flex in the Metaverse with Meta AR, avatars and NFTs.

A metaverse combines virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) that can be accessed through a browser or headset.

This partnership is coming after an earlier meeting the social media firm had with creators to celebrate their impact while introducing them to the technologies in the Metaverse.

The meeting had Comedian Josh2funny; Comedian and scriptwriter, Mark Angel Comedy; Digital Content Creator, Miss Techy; Actor/Comedian, Ayomidate; Visual Storyteller, Frank Itom; and Fashion Entrepreneur, Tolu Bally. Also, Singers, Teni and Ayra Starr were in attendance.

The company’s vice president of Public Policy, Africa, Middle East and Turkey,  Kojo Boakye expressed excitement over the collaboration.

He said, “We are excited to bring these talented creators together to celebrate their achievements and work with them to build inclusive products for connected metaverse experiences.”

“We are committed to providing a new and immersive way for people to connect and we are excited about building inclusive products that achieve this in the metaverse.”

This new partnership is expected to help content creators harness the metaverse’s benefits through art, tech, and history.
